a little cooler in oakland, maryland 28, along with petersburg. 27 in culpeper. that is an exception. clear skies to start the day. we will have a lot of sunshine at sunrise at 7:20. we notice rain down in the deep south close to texas, oklahoma arkansas, area of low pressure still developing. not a very strong system but enough to bring some rainfall to the deep south. that's good for texas and oklahoma. the storm will move to the northeast and ride up the appalachian mountains. we will be on the warm side of this and it will bring us rainfall tomorrow into friday. in terms of rainfall totals, i am thinking around a half-inch locally. this is just one of our computer models. i think that it has a pretty good idea and gives us a ballpark of the rainfall totals. around half inch around the beltway. north west of town along the blue ridge and maybe nearly three-quarters of an inch in northern shenandoah valley. half-inch up to three-quarters of an inch by friday afternoon when the rain is all moving out of town. becoming partly cloudy today, mid 40's, which is aver

oakland. 10 above. all right! now that's my kind of winter weather. 32 in the district and lexington park. a really mild start where temperatures won't change much. are you just going to go steady or -- notice the areas of snow already widespread from the dakotas down into iowa. increasing clouds later this evening. then we'll see the snow and sleet head into town. you'll notice ice pellets falling from the sky. into the morning hours. then about 4:00 a.m. in the metro area, i'm expecting a brief changeover, maybe an hour or two to some areas of freezing rain. it's a little bit of snow and sleet and a little coat of freezing rain on top of that, then changing over to cold rain around and after sunrise. so in order -- locally i can't rule out about an inch of snow and sleet. around an inch then a little bit of icing on top. we could have one to two inches of low? and sleet and then a quarter of an inch of freezing rain. sunday gray, low clouds, pockets of light sleet. not accumulating into anything, but monday back
